I started working as an Assistant Golf Professional at Old Hickory Golf Club in March of 2017 thanks to Zach Conlin’s advice. However, my career in golf started back in 2006 (at the ripe age of 14) at Mid Rivers Golf Course as a cart kid. I went on to play two years of golf for the Howell Central Spartans before hanging up my bag due to injury. I went on to college at Southeast Missouri State University where I studied nutrition.
Health and fitness have always been an interest in my life, but I could not picture myself working in a hospital. Thanks to the support of my colleagues I found a way to merge my passions of golf, health and wellness by becoming Titleist Performance Institute Certified. TPI discovered how a properly functioning body allows a player to swing a golf club in the most efficient way possible. Since gaining this certification, I will be able to help Old Hickory members, my father and myself keep swinging our clubs so we can continue to enjoy this wonderful game. Mostly, I enjoy working with the junior golfers and watching them develop excitement for the game.
Love what you do and you never work a day in your life!
Outside of work I stay busy by kayaking on the lakes of New Town, jogging with my dog Maximus and finding new trails to hike. Spending time with my family and friends have always been an important part of my life and my bucket list of travels is ever growing. Europe is next on my list to conquer!
